SPARK partners with MM&P Moncton to mark 40th anniversary

SPARK, the New Brunswick Metal Working Association, is partnering with Metalworking Manufacturing & Production Expo to mark the association’s 40th anniversary of being the voice of the province’s metal working businesses and their partners.

MM&P Expo, a tabletop tradeshow event that brings suppliers together with their customers, is being held for the first time in New Brunswick at the Moncton Coliseum on June 21. With SPARK’s involvement, the event will include a morning keynote address from 9 to 10 a.m., the tabletop tradeshow from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., a lunch hour speaker, and an evening dinner. Attendees will have the opportunity to attend all of these events. SPARK will also host its annual meeting on June 21 and a business match-making golf tournament on June 22, which will be open to all attendees.

“This sector has a tremendous reputation for providing world-class products and services to customers around the globe, and this event will allow us to showcase the businesses in a new way,” explained Joel Richardson, Executive Director of SPARK and Vice President of the New Brunswick/PEI division of Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME). “We expect a strong attendance of suppliers, shop owners, and industry experts from across the Maritimes.”

Richardson also sees the event as an ideal venue to explore business opportunities for all stakeholders in New Brunswick’s manufacturing industry.

“For instance, this will be a fantastic forum to have a supportive discussion on the Energy East Pipeline and Sisson Mine project,” said Richardson. “With all the key stakeholders for industry growth in one location for this event, we will plan how we can best move forward.”

“It is great to be able to partner with such a strong local association for this event,” said Rob Swan, publisher of Canadian Fabricating & Welding magazine. “With the SPARK members attending the event, and the variety of suppliers and industry experts that come to participate in the MM&P Expo, it should be a great opportunity for shop owners and operators from across the Maritimes to network and learn how they can further develop their business.”

SPARK represents the province’s local firms involved in custom machining and fabrication of industrial solutions. SPARK is managed by the New Brunswick/PEI division of the CME, Canada’s largest trade and industry association.

MM&P Expo was developed by Canadian Metalworking and Canadian Fabricating & Welding magazines as an opportunity to create connections between metal working industry suppliers and their customers in markets across Canada.
